Family Start commemorated their 10th year birthday celebrations on 6th May by hosting a “Friends of Family Start” banquet. This is a significant milestone for an organisation that was faced with the challenge of creating a service delivery template rather than duplicating one. Memorable moments of the evening included the stunning performance by “Descendants of Avaiki”, a children and youth culture group. We were also entertained with performances from the staff of Family Start and a dance from representatives of the Philipino community.

Te Rehia Papesch spoke on behalf of former Trustees and Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust chairperson Toni Welch thanked all those individuals and agencies who had supported the Trust and Family Start for the last ten years.
