Building Homes for whanau / fanau
We achieve our mission by;
·Creating a housing environment where low income peoples’ predominantly of Maori and Pacific descent view access to quality housing and wrap around service support as a right not simply a privilege of wealth
·Seeking opportunities to increase the supply of secure, high quality, affordable housing
·Facilitating access to affordable, sustainable and innovative housing options
·Providing proactive and responsive property and tenant management
·Facilitating access to a supportive whanau ora focused environment
·Ensuring that the organisation is operating efficiently and effectively
·Partnering with other agencies to achieve these outcomes
·Continually developing and growing the organisation that promotes a robust Maori and Pacific housing sector in New Zealand

The Trust is committed to:
·Respecting and implementing the intent of article 3 of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi);
·Acknowledgement of the Tangata Whenua of the areas the Trust will enter;
·Respecting the cultural diversity of people and encourage people from all nationalities to utilise the Trust’s facilities and services;
· Inspiring people to reach their full potential; eliminate the dependency trap and achieve their goals an aspirations
·Working cooperatively and inclusively with others to advance the aspirations of the Trust, and

NGA WHĀINGA / PURPOSE
The purpose of the Trust is to:
·Assist in the development of social housing for the benefit of Maori and Pacific people;
·To advance the wellbeing and economic autonomy of Maori and Pacific peoples through home ownership;
·To advocate for quality and affordable homes for Maori and Pacific peoples;
·To model effective collaborative ventures with multi-agencies, Government, government departments, community and civil bodies, individuals and business, in housing initiatives
·To provide affordable, sustainable and innovative housing options
·To provide proactive and responsive property and tenant management
·Promote a robust Maori and Pacific housing sector in Aotearoa

Established in the mid 1980’s under the direction and guidance of the late Maori Queen Te Atairangikaahu and Mayor Sir Ross Jansen Te Rūnanga o Kirikiriroa Charitable Trust is an Urban Authority acknowledging the sovereign rights of mana whenua and tangata whenua of the Hamilton City area.
