Rongo Atea is a 24 hour, 7 day a week, abstinence based, kaupapa Maori alcohol and other drug programme that embraces all adolescence. We cater for youth between the ages of 13 and 17 who have severe misuse of Alcohol and/or and other drug dependence.

We structure our residential programme in 16 week blocks. The purpose built facility can accommodate 8 youth of each gender (a total of 16 youth) at any one time.

Tools and coping strategies offered by Rongo Atea include:

  • A kaupapa Maori based programme
  • Abstinence
  • 12 Step recovery Programme
