TE ARA KI TE ORA  //  A Pathway to Wellbeing

Te Ara Ki Te Ora – A Pathway to Wellbeing

Te Ara Ki Te Ora is a community based Mental Health and Addictions Service for individuals or whanau who are affected by mental health or alcohol and other drug addictions.  We are a Maori based service within Te Runanga o Kirikiriroa and are able to support our whanau in a culturally sensitive environment.

How can we help?

The services provided to individuals and whanau include a comprehensive assessment necessary for treatment planning with individuals and whanau who may be supporting those with mental health and addiction issues or who may be struggling with these issues themselves. Whanau support is provided by a kaimahi who will support whanau to support their loved ones.  This is done through regular face to face, text messaging and telephone contact. Support ranges from providing education, organising noho marae, linking whanau to internal and community resources, advocacy and facilitating whanau support groups.

Referral Process:

Individuals and whanau are able to refer themselves to our services. Often referrals come through other support services in the community. Once a referral is made, staff will make efforts to contact the Tangata Whaiora to schedule an appointment. We prefer that whanau are actively involved throughout this process. Referrals can be made by contacting reception.
