AOD Clinician (Kaitautoko)

About Us

Te Rūnanga o Kirikiriroa is a kaupapa Māori organisation based on a whānau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach. Our organisation works to a model of care centred around our pou (guiding principles) of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, arohatanga, rangatiratanga, tika and pono. We deliver 30+ health and social services across the life span (i.e., from infants to the elderly) and have a team of over 100 people working across Hamilton city and beyond.

About the Role

These are Monday-Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm positions however, on occasions you may be required to work the weekend, dependent on the support needs of your whanaunga. Te Ara Pai is a community drug and alcohol service that provides clinical/cultural case management of whanaunga from psycho education through to residential support. 

Positions available 

  • 2 x permanent, full time, 40 hours/week 
  • Between $62,000 - $80,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience, aligning with pay equity  

We are seeking a Kaitautoko AOD Clinician and Kaitautoko Kaupapa Māori Clinical Assessor who: 

  • Pride themselves on their ability to work to a whānau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach 
  • Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our whanaunga 
  • Has a positive and supportive mindset in supporting our whanaunga to achieve their goals and aspirations  
  • Demonstrates patience and calm by walking alongside and at the pace of our whanaunga 
  • Works to a holistic approach to wellbeing 
  • Understands and actively demonstrates our pou 
  • Uses appropriate language and communication skills (e.g., tone, active listening) to fully understand the needs of the whanaunga  
  • Has a reasonable level of computer literacy to complete case notes and other electronic documents e.g., emails 

You will have:   

  • 1-3 years working in a kaupapa Māori environment 
  • 5 + years experience in your respective discipline 
  • A level 7 or above qualification in AOD, Nursing, Bi-cultural Social Work, Allied Health Sector, te reo Māori, tikanga Māori or be prepared to study towards one or more of these qualifications 
  • Registered to the appropriate board or be prepared to be registered to a body 
  • A basic understanding of te ao Māori principles e.g., te reo and tikanga, and a willingness to learn more in this area 
  • Programme facilitation experience 
  • Evidence of your fully vaccinated and boosted Covid-19 status 
  • Full driver licence 
  • Proof of your right to work in New Zealand

Between $64,480.00 - $75,005.00 dependent on qualifications and experience
