Property Coordinator (Kaitautoko)

About Us

Te Rūnanga o Kirikiriroa is a kaupapa Māori organisation based on a whānau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach. Our organisation works to a model of care centred around our pou (guiding principles) of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, arohatanga, rangatiratanga, tika and pono. We deliver 30+ health and social services across the life span (i.e., from infants to the elderly) and have a team of over 100 people working across Hamilton city and beyond.

About the Role

We have a Kaitautoko Property Coordinator position available within our Korowai Manaaki Team. This is a Monday-Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm position. Korowai Manaaki are a housing service that provides support to whanaunga by facilitating the transition of referred whanaunga through a temporary housing placement into permanent housing, including whānau plans that support future housing aspirations and ongoing wellbeing and needs.   

Positions available 

  • 1x permanent full time, 40 hours/week 
  • From $32.00 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience, aligning with pay equity 

You will be responsible for  

  • Overseeing and managing daily operations of the property or properties 
  • Handle any complaints or issues from tenants regarding the property, carry out property inspections, manage exits and ensure that the property is legally compliant 
  • Keep and maintain records and regular reports. 

We are seeking a Kaitautoko Property Coordinator who

  • Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our whanaunga 
  • Has a positive and supportive mindset in supporting our whanaunga to achieve their goals and aspirations  
  • Demonstrates patience and calm by walking alongside and at the pace of our whanaunga 
  • Understands and actively demonstrates our pou 
  • Uses appropriate language and communication skills (e.g., tone, active listening) to fully understand the needs of the whanaunga  
  • Has a high level of computer literacy to complete case notes and other electronic documents e.g., emails 

You will have 

  • 1-3 years working in a kaupapa Māori environment 
  • 5-10 years experience in the real-estate industry with a primary focus on rental properties; and/or 
  • A level 7 qualification, te reo Māori, tikanga Māori or be prepared to study towards one or more of these qualifications 
  • A basic understanding of te ao Māori principles e.g., te reo and tikanga, and a willingness to learn more in this area 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Excellent organisation skills 
  • Knowledge of relevant landlord – tenant laws 
  • Patience and flexibility  
  • Evidence of being fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19 
  • Full driver licence 
  • Proof of your right to work in New Zealand

Salary/HOURLY RATE:
Between $64,480.00 - $72,508.00 dependent on qualifications and experience, aligning with pay equity
